Honoring The Language of Your Body

Aloha!

As a woman I have a tendency to think I am “Superwoman” or “The Energizer Bunny” and just keep going and going and going! I became a single mother when my children were 7 and 5 and I had no one to help me and pretty much had to do and take care of everything myself. It became a habit and I would automatically go into the “doing” mode without even seeing if someone could assist me.

As my children grew up and left home and it became just me that I had to worry about, I found myself overextending myself to help others because by now that was just normal. Then I got on my spiritual journey and was placed in a situation that I had to ask for help. My body was incapable of doing some of the tasks that I had so taken for granted. I was injured on the first day of a 5 day “spiritual enlightenment” boot camp and couldn’t even put on my own shoes without help. I choose to stay in the boot camp and do what I could do and ask for help when I absolutely needed it (which was quite frequently) and to say “I choose not to do this activity” when my body communicated that even with help it would not be possible at this time. Those were two powerful lessons for me. Actually there were a lot more powerful lessons in that boot camp but honoring what my body told me was a big one.

So this week with a list of projects that are calling my name and my analytical brain telling me to allocate time to them, my body started telling me it was in need of some rest. I had just spent Friday, Sat. and Sunday doing all my data entry into QuickBooks and Quicken for business and personal for 2009 and 2010 to present. I am usually a 6 hour a night sleeper but Monday my body told me to take a nap around 1:15 pm or so. I fought it like crazy as my head was saying “You can’t take a nap, you need to finish this project, work on your Client Attraction homework, get your office set up, blah, blah, blah! After 45 minutes I finally gave in and laid down for an hour and got in a quick nap. Then that evening my body is telling me at 9 pm that it needs to sleep again. What I thought, I took a nap. I have too much to do and I was forcing my body to stay awake. I quickly checked in with my Board of Directors to see what I should do next and was promptly told to go to bed and honor my body. So on Monday night I was fast asleep by 9:30 pm, got a good night of sleep, played hookie on Tuesday and went for a massage and again went to sleep early Tuesday night.

My body is thanking me today and I am getting more accomplished by honoring what my body was telling me than if I had been insistent on pushing myself on Monday and Tuesday and ignoring it.

How many times does your higher guidance give you clear direction and you do the exact opposite and then pay for it later? Start tuning into what your body is telling you and you will be more aligned with what you truly are suppose to be doing. Your body is so intelligent, stop for a moment and check in with what it is saying to you. Love, honor and respect it and its messages to you. It is here to serve you in your highest and best good.

Infinite blessings to all,

Tips for Living Stress Free

Good Morning!  Here are a couple tips taken from my 10 Tips for Living Stress Free report.  I hope you enjoy and start practicing them.  I am all about teaching people how to reduce stress in their lives.  Did you know that over 75% of ALL Doctor visits are related to stress?  Does that give you any indication on the effects that stress plays in our health.  Do you think if you reduced your stress, you would become healthier, happier and live a more harmonious life?

Tip #1 - Learn to breathe deeply.  I mean a really good deep belly breath.  Breathe in through your nose to a count of 6, hold for a count of 12 and release slowly through your mouth to a count of 6.  Do this 10 times 3 times a day and you will be doing your body, your mind and your spirit a HUGE favor.  Deep breathing also helps release toxins from inside our body.   This is a simple thing you can do and the best thing of all is it is at “no charge”.  Can’t beat that!  Deep breathing is more important than any other thing you can do.  So go and just DO IT!

Tip #2  This tip deals more from the emotional side of you and has to do with foregiveness.  When we hold onto anger, upset or think that someone has done us wrong, we are storing negative energy in our body.   Learn to forgive others and allow the experience to be a tool for growth.  Use it like a reflection and ask yourself what the gift in the situation is for you.  When you realize that every situation that enters your life, you have created for yourself to learn and grow.  It has nothing to do with the other person and everything to do with YOU!  It appears easier to blame the other person for what ever it is, but take responsibility for it, own it and seek the gift.  You will release the negative energy, you will feel better, you will feel empowered and you will grow from it.  In the long run, you will be MUCH MORE HAPPIER!

Enjoy this day, smile at others in a geniune manner and remember you are like a magnet, you attract what you put out, so put out good thought, actions and deeds!

In joy and gratitude,

Diane Marie

Live in a state of GRATITIDE!

An interesting phenomenon regarding gratitude that I would like to share.  It is so simple, yet so many people do not give it credit or even try it.  The more you are in gratitude, the more God/The Universe gives to you.

Remember when you were a kid and you told your parents thank you for what they did for you or what they bought you?  Your parents were more likely to be kinder and more giving to you when you were grateful for what they did.  If you didn’t show any gratitude, they were not as likely to do nice things for you.  Same goes for your boss, your friends, your spouse, boyfriend, girlfriend or who ever you are dealing with.

Start a gratitude journal for the next 30 days.  Every morning name a least 5 things that you are grateful for and write them down in your journal.  Now, if you can’t think of 5 things, take a step back and look.  Are you grateful you woke up this morning?  Are you grateful you are able to get out of bed, are you grateful you can talk, walk, see, hear, make decisions.  Are you grateful the sun shines.  Come on, there are a million things you can be grateful for.

Right before you go to sleep at night, write down 5 things that happened during the day that you were grateful for.

Watch what happens over the 30 days.  Be consistent, do it every morning and every night.  Jot down in your journal all the little miracles that start happening in your world.  Be aware, miracles can be small and appear as nothing sometimes.  Be conscious of what is going on around you.  Look for the cues that appear.

Enjoy and have fun with this.  Life is not meant to be a stuggle!  Open up your heart and live in a state of gratitude!

Where does my energy come from?

QigongHave you ever wondered why some people seem to have an abundance of energy and then others are always tired?

If you knew how to cultivate energy, would you?

The word Qigong breaks into Qi and Gong: Qi = vitality, energy, life force, Gong = practice, cultivate, refine; Qigong = to cultivate and refine through practice one’s vitality or life force.

Qigong or Chi Kung moves the blood, therefore it generates energy without much movement or stress on the body. It is ideal for individuals who have some health challenges and can not do a lot of physical activity such as jogging, aerobics or even walking. Qigong allows everyone who desires improvement in their body to do the movements sitting down or standing up.

The health benefits of practicing Qigong are numerous. The breathing techniques of Qigong allow oxygen to flow deep into the cells, tissues and organs of the body. Wherever Qi goes, blood flows. Normal people use only about 60% of their circulatory system but with Qigong that percentage increases. With more oxygen and blood getting to more of the body, do you think that health conditions might just improve?

On November 1, 2007, Dr. Oz was on Oprah and stated, “If you want to live to 100, do Qigong.” He also said, “Qigong is the best longevity exercise.” There are literally thousands of scientific studies that show Qigong has helped people to reverse many types of dis-ease in their bodies. The largest database of scientific studies on the effects of Qigong can be found at www.QigongInstitute.org

Relationship Marketing for Business

Let’s define relationship marketing.  The basic premise is that appreciation will win over self-promotion every time.  That’s it.  If all you did was looked at everything you sent out as a relationship builder, not a self promoter, you would be light years ahead of everyone else.  Think about it, everything we receive in the mail these days is self promoting (for the most part).  The key to Relationship Marketing is to show appreciation and gratitude on a daily basis, and to convey that to the people you are doing business with or looking to do business with.  The best way to illustrate this is to give you an example that you can take and use in your business TODAY.

This week, when you go to your mailbox at home, hang on to all the mail.  This will be fun I promise!  Save it all just for a week.  When the weekend rolls around, sort it into three piles.  Pile one is all the stuff you need to keep. Bills, checks (hopefully more checks than bills!), anything you need to save or file.  Pile number two will include all of the mail you receive that is junk AND all the mail that is self promoting.  The definition of something that is self promoting would be a letter, postcard, flyer, something that has a logo, a business card, someone asking you for business, asking you for referrals, anything that has a give to get kind of feel.  Pile two should be pretty big.  This is both good news and bad news that this pile is big.  First, the bad news (I’m a positive person and like to get the bad news out of the way).  The bad news is that these people are spending money and wasting trees, most of these pieces are not effective at all. Most are concerned with just “touching” you, or contacting you in some way. (I have to generalize and this is based on my own personal experience.)  However, here is the good news.  Because so many people are trying to build their business this way, you will stand out even more because you are different.  Before we explain how great this is for you, let’s finish up with pile of mail number three.  Pile three is everything that you receive that is memorable, mail that stands out.  Mail with NO HIDDEN (or obvious for that matter) AGENDA.  A card that says, “I’m thinking of you.”  A quick thank you for no reason.  Any piece of mail that is memorable, stands out, and you would save it for more than 5 days (and show to someone else) - mail that is IMPRESSIVE.  This pile should be by far the smallest.

How does this affect you and your business.  Your goal is to be in the third pile!  It is the smallest pile, so your mail will stand out.  It is the pile that the majority of people will open FIRST!  Your goal is to create memorable pieces that people remember, cards that have an impact, evoke a feeling.  Feelings are our deepest emotions.  When you write your cards, postcards, whatever it may be - do it with feeling.  Do it with a give to give philosophy, with appreciation versus self promotion.  Your clients will love the fresh change.  You are different and different is good.  You care.

Here is your goal for the next month.  You want your mail to be in pile three.  Before you mail something, ask yourself, “What pile would I put this in if it came to my mailbox?” Your business will flourish, your clients will never leave you, and you will have more fun than ever.  If you’re not sure how to create these types of mailings, give me a call and discover a powerful tool to make this happen! Until next time, remember, businesses are built on relationships - and relationships grow through recognition, appreciation, and gratitude.  Call me – Diane Marie 727-434-0048  www.StressFreeCardSending.com
